'The Vvaan', the action film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, crossed the Rs 60 crore mark at the Indian box office on Tuesday, distributors confirmed. The milestone extends a run that began with a Rs 42 crore five-day opening.

The film held firmly through its first Monday and Tuesday, a period when Hindi releases typically shed earnings sharply. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that sustained multiplex occupancy in Delhi, Mumbai and the NCR had cushioned the usual weekday decline.

The second-week hold places 'The Vvaan' among the stronger Hindi performers of the autumn season, offering relief to a Bollywood slate that has leaned heavily on event releases. The producers credited positive word of mouth and the Malhotra-Bhatia pairing for the continued draw.

Exhibitors at PVR Inox said advance bookings for the coming weekend remained healthy, suggesting the film could approach the Rs 90 crore threshold before facing competition from upcoming festival-period releases. The studio expects the title to clear Rs 100 crore in its domestic lifetime.

'The Vvaan' arrives as the Hindi industry eyes a crowded Diwali window, with the film's holdover strength positioning it as a late-season commercial bright spot.
