BTS moved closer to a full reunion on Thursday as the South Korean group and its label HYBE confirmed plans for group activities following the completion of mandatory military service by all seven members.
The seven members — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — enlisted in staggered fashion beginning in late 2022 under South Korea's conscription rules requiring able-bodied men to serve. Jin and J-Hope were discharged in 2024, with the remaining members following through 2025.
HYBE previously said it expected the group to regroup in 2026 and has faced sustained investor and fan pressure to confirm a comeback schedule. Analysts at Korean brokerages including Hana Securities have cited a BTS reunion as a key driver for HYBE's share price and revenue outlook.
The band's ARMY fanbase flooded social media platforms with anticipation, pushing related hashtags to global trending status. Industry observers expect a coordinated album release and a stadium world tour, which would rank among the highest-grossing concert runs of the year if confirmed.
BTS remains the most commercially significant act in K-pop history, having topped the Billboard Hot 100 and addressed the United Nations. A full-group return carries substantial weight for South Korea's cultural exports and HYBE's financial performance.
