'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office on Sunday, industry trackers reported, capping a record-breaking opening weekend across the country. The milestone confirmed the film's status as one of 2026's biggest Hollywood releases in India.
Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' reboot opened to ₹60 crore, surpassing the previous Hollywood benchmark set by 'Avengers: Endgame'. Strong advance bookings in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru drove the result, alongside demand for premium-format screenings in IMAX and 4DX auditoriums.
The film benefited from a wide release across English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions. Exhibition chains PVR Inox and Cinepolis added extra Sunday shows to meet demand, with several evening screenings selling out in major cities.
The performance underscored the growing importance of the Indian market to Hollywood studios, which have increasingly tailored release strategies and dubbing rollouts to the country. Analysts at Ormax Media noted that Marvel titles have consistently outperformed other franchises in India, and the strong hold suggested robust weekday collections ahead.
A Sony Pictures India spokesperson said the studio was "thrilled" with the response and expected the film to continue drawing audiences through the extended run, particularly in premium formats.
