INDIANAPOLIS — Nike released Caitlin Clark's first signature shoe, the Caitlin 1, on Thursday, with the Kansas City Chiefs-inspired colorway selling out within hours of going live. The shoe was unveiled earlier in the week by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on the Nike SNKRS platform.

Clark, the Indiana Fever guard and reigning face of the WNBA's commercial surge, becomes one of the few women's basketball players to hold a signature line with Nike. The company had teased the shoe for weeks before the Reid video circulated online, tying Clark's Iowa roots and fan base to a broader marketing push.

The Chiefs colorway features red and gold accents, drawing on Clark's public support for the Kansas City franchise and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Nike said the release marked one of the strongest launch-day demand figures for a women's basketball product in the brand's history, though it did not disclose exact sales numbers.

The debut arrived as the WNBA's off-season commercial momentum continued to build around Clark. Her jersey and merchandise sales have repeatedly topped league records, with analysts at retailers including Foot Locker projecting the Caitlin 1 among the most anticipated basketball releases of the year.

"This is a moment for the whole game, not just for me," Clark said in Nike's promotional material accompanying the launch.
