MILAN — Milan Fashion Week concluded its spring/summer 2027 womenswear schedule on Thursday, with houses including Prada and Giorgio Armani presenting collections as the industry marked its first September season since Armani's death earlier this year. The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana oversaw the six-day calendar.
The season carried added weight with his eponymous label showing under the direction of his design team and long-time collaborators. Tributes to the designer, who built one of Italy's largest privately held fashion empires, featured across the week's shows and industry gatherings.
Prada, designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, showed one of the most closely watched collections of the calendar. Versace presented its first full season under Dario Vitale, who joined from Miu Miu. Bottega Veneta, Ferragamo and Dolce & Gabbana also featured on the schedule.
Buyers and editors treated the Milan shows as a barometer for a luxury sector navigating slower demand in China and cautious spending among aspirational shoppers. Analysts at Bain & Company have forecast a subdued year for personal luxury goods, raising the stakes for standout commercial collections.
The fashion caravan now moves to Paris, where the spring/summer 2027 season continues with shows from Chanel, Dior and Saint Laurent in the coming days.
