NEW YORK — Rockstar Games opened pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI on Saturday, a day after releasing the game's launch trailer and confirming a November 19, 2026 release date. Early demand overwhelmed several retail storefronts.

The pre-order launch follows Friday's trailer, which revealed new footage, licensed music and the confirmed date. Rockstar, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, is releasing the title on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC version expected later.

Retailers including the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and GameStop listed standard and deluxe editions, with premium tiers priced above the standard version. Several storefronts reported intermittent outages and queueing as players rushed to secure pre-orders within hours of the listings appearing.

Analysts at Wedbush Securities and other firms have forecast GTA 6 as the largest entertainment launch in history, with first-year revenue projections exceeding previous records set by Grand Theft Auto V. Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick has repeatedly described the title as a defining release for the company.

The game's arrival has reshaped the autumn release calendar, with several publishers reportedly shifting titles away from the November window to avoid competing directly with Rockstar's launch.
