LONDON — The All England Lawn Tennis Club confirmed its 2026 Championships catering arrangements on Tuesday, including strawberries-and-cream pricing, days before the tournament begins. The annual disclosure has become a fixture of the pre-tournament news cycle.

Wimbledon, the oldest of tennis's four Grand Slam events, opens its main draw on June 29 and runs through July 12. The club typically keeps strawberries-and-cream prices low as a gesture to tradition, even as catering across the grounds expands with new food and drink concessions each year. Around 1.9 million strawberries and thousands of litres of cream are served during the fortnight.

The announcement also detailed updated arrangements for The Queue, the club's celebrated first-come system for ground passes, alongside guidance on bag policies and grounds access. A spokesperson for the All England Club said preparations for the courts and hospitality areas were on schedule following weeks of grass maintenance.

Wimbledon's pricing decisions draw outsized attention because the club resists steep increases that have hit other major sporting venues. The spokesperson said the tournament aimed to balance rising costs with maintaining its traditions for spectators. Demand for tickets through the public ballot again far outstripped supply.

The Championships are expected to attract more than 500,000 visitors over the two weeks, with organisers emphasising sustainability measures across food, transport and waste this year.
