NEW YORK — Venus and Serena Williams will contest the women's doubles at the 2026 US Open after the United States Tennis Association granted the pair a wild card this week. Their opening match is expected in the tournament's first rounds at Flushing Meadows.

The sisters have won 14 major doubles titles together, most recently at Wimbledon in 2016. Their return marks one of the marquee storylines of the year's final major.

Serena, 44, and Venus, 46, have both stepped back from full-time singles competition in recent seasons. The doubles wild card offers a farewell platform at the tournament where each has enjoyed some of their greatest triumphs, with Serena a six-time singles champion in New York.

The USTA expects the pairing to draw heavy demand for tickets and prime scheduling on Arthur Ashe Stadium. Tournament organisers have highlighted the sisters as a central attraction of the event alongside the singles draws.

The US Open main draw runs across the coming fortnight at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens.
