PARIS — Tadej Pogacar won the 2026 Tour de France on Sunday, defending his yellow jersey through the final stage into the French capital. The UAE Team Emirates rider confirmed another Grand Tour triumph as the race concluded on the Champs-Elysees.

The result followed a commanding performance in the mountains, where Pogacar extended his lead on Saturday's penultimate stage over Alpe d'Huez. Stage 20 took the peloton across the Col du Glandon before the brutal ascent that all but decided the general classification.

The ceremonial final stage traditionally leaves the overall standings untouched, with sprinters contesting the day's honours on the Paris circuit. Pogacar rode protected within his team as the peloton completed the closing laps before the sprint finish.

ASO staged the podium presentation on the Champs-Elysees, where Pogacar received the yellow jersey alongside the winners of the points, mountains and young rider classifications. The victory adds to his growing collection of Grand Tour titles and strengthens his standing among the sport's dominant riders.

The 2026 edition drew large crowds through the Alps and into Paris, with the finale marking the end of three weeks of racing across France.
