CUPERTINO, California — Apple confirmed an autumn product event for Tuesday, September 9, via press invitations sent Sunday. The announcement came as supply-chain leaks detailed the iPhone 18 Pro's camera redesign and new A20 processor.

This launch marks the first major keynote under Tim Cook's successor. Apple hardware chief John Ternus is stepping into the chief executive role, a transition that analysts at Bloomberg Intelligence and Wedbush said raises the stakes for a smooth flagship debut.

Leaked component images circulated by supply-chain accounts on Sunday showed a horizontal rear camera bar, a variable aperture main sensor, and an A20 chip manufactured on TSMC's second-generation 2-nanometer process. Samsung Display is set to supply upgraded LTPO panels for the Pro models, according to Korean outlet ETNews.

Apple is expected to unveil the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, an updated Apple Watch and new AirPods, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Pricing pressure from US tariffs on Chinese-assembled goods has fuelled speculation of a modest increase for the Pro tier.
