US-listed spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded a fourth consecutive week of net inflows, pushing cumulative weekly demand above $2bn, according to fund-flow data compiled by Farside Investors and SoSoValue. The buying steadied bitcoin near recent highs.
The momentum followed a single-day inflow of $731m on September 3, as easing tensions between the United States and Iran reduced risk aversion across financial markets. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, known by its IBIT ticker, again accounted for the largest share of the inflows.
The rally has been reinforced by growing conviction that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates at its September meeting, after softer US labour-market data. Lower borrowing costs typically favour non-yielding assets such as bitcoin, and analysts at digital-asset firms including Bitwise have pointed to institutional allocation as the dominant driver.
The steadier flows mark a shift from the volatility that defined earlier summer trading, when geopolitical shocks triggered sharp reversals. An asset manager at a major crypto firm said institutional buyers were treating dips as accumulation opportunities rather than exit signals.
Weekend crypto trading remains thinner than weekday sessions, when ETF creations and redemptions settle, but spot prices held firm through Sunday as Asian and European desks maintained bids.
