Arab governments moved Monday to support implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement announced by US President Donald Trump, with Kuwait among the first states to publicly welcome the deal. Kuwait's foreign ministry praised efforts to halt the fighting and urged all parties to abide by their commitments and allow humanitarian aid into the territory without obstruction.

The agreement, brokered with mediation from Egypt, Qatar and the United States, sets out staged steps including a cessation of hostilities, prisoner and hostage exchanges, and expanded aid deliveries. Gulf states have pressed for guarantees on reconstruction funding and the political future of Gaza as conditions for their financial support.

Diplomats at the Arab League signalled that further coordination meetings would follow to align regional backing behind the plan. Israeli and Palestinian officials were expected to confirm the timing of the first exchanges, though disputes over sequencing and monitoring remained unresolved.

Kuwait's foreign ministry said the country stood ready to contribute to humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in coordination with international partners once the ceasefire held.
