NEW YORK — Zales launched its 26.2 Edit, a 27-piece fine jewelry collection inspired by marathon running, on Friday, timed to the build-up to the TCS New York City Marathon on November 1.
The line draws its name from the 26.2-mile marathon distance and features pendants, bracelets and charms marking finish lines and personal milestones. The collection spans accessible price points in gold and diamond accents, positioning pieces for both runners and gift-buyers supporting participants.
Zales, owned by Signet Jewelers, is positioning the collection as a departure from its traditional bridal and gifting focus toward wearers who want to commemorate athletic achievement. The launch reflects a broader shift among fine jewelry brands, which increasingly chase younger, experience-driven shoppers rather than relying on wedding and anniversary sales alone.
The timing aligns with marathon season, when hundreds of thousands of runners compete in events across the United States. Signet has sought to broaden Zales' appeal after several quarters of pressure on discretionary spending across the jewelry sector.
A Zales spokesperson said the collection celebrates "the dedication it takes to reach a finish line" and is designed for everyday wear beyond race day.
