LONDON — Joheirry Mola Dominguez, crowned Miss World 2026, made her first official public appearances on Monday, beginning her year-long tenure with engagements tied to the pageant's Beauty With a Purpose charity programme.

Mola Dominguez became only the second woman from the Dominican Republic to win the title, following Yaritza Reyes. A trained educator and model, she has centred her platform around access to education, which formed the focus of her competition project.

The Miss World Organisation, led by chairman Julia Morley, uses the immediate post-crowning period to introduce the new winner to media and charity partners. Mola Dominguez conducted interviews and photo calls before beginning international travel on behalf of the organisation's fundraising initiatives.

Her win drew heavy coverage across Latin American and Caribbean outlets. Pageant analysts noted the result continues a strong recent run for Caribbean and Latin American contestants in global beauty competitions.

"This crown is a responsibility, not a reward," Mola Dominguez said after her victory, pledging to devote her reign to educational causes in her home country and beyond.
