PARIS — Jonathan Anderson completed his first full couture collection for Dior on Wednesday, drawing industry focus as Haute Couture Week concluded. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode oversaw the week-long schedule of runway presentations.
Anderson took over creative direction at Dior following his departure from Loewe. Fashion editors at Vogue and WWD described his approach as favouring sculptural silhouettes and restrained tailoring over overt celebrity spectacle.
The collection marked a deliberate pivot away from gossip. Speculation about Taylor Swift's rumoured Dior wedding gown had circulated widely online in the days before the show, but Anderson steered the narrative toward the craftsmanship of the couture atelier.
The close of couture week carries commercial weight for LVMH, Dior's parent company, which has faced softening luxury demand across key markets. Analysts at Bernstein have said couture serves as a brand-building showcase even when direct sales are limited to a small clientele.
"Couture is where a house states its intentions," a Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode spokesperson said, noting that the Paris schedule concluded with strong international buyer attendance.
