Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey in Indian advance ticket sales, with distributors reporting the Marvel sequel leading the market ahead of its wide release. Trade analysts point to the film as summer's strongest draw in India, one of Hollywood's most important overseas markets.
The film stars Tom Holland and reunites the actor with the wall-crawler following record-breaking runs of earlier franchise entries. Indian exhibitors including PVR Inox opened advance sales days early, and booking platforms reported rapid sell-outs for premium format screens in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.
Trade tracker Sacnilk and film analyst Taran Adarsh noted early bookings had surpassed those for The Odyssey, which crossed Rs 100 crore in India earlier this month. IMAX and large-format shows accounted for a significant share of demand, according to figures cited by the platforms.
The strong pre-sales underscore the enduring appeal of the Spider-Man brand in India. Disney and Sony executives have prioritized premium-format releases to drive theatrical revenue, and the advance numbers signal a robust opening weekend.
The film's Indian distributor said demand had exceeded internal projections and that additional early-morning and late-night shows were being scheduled across metropolitan and Tier-2 cities to meet the surge in bookings.
