'Mandaadi' crossed the ₹100 crore worldwide box office mark on Sunday, distributors confirmed, capping a strong second-week run that defied expectations for the Tamil-language film. The milestone arrived on the extended weekend across Tamil Nadu and overseas markets.

The sports action drama, starring Soori in a lead role, had approached the ₹100 crore threshold late last week, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. Multiplex chains in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai reported near-full houses for weekend shows, while overseas collections in the Gulf and North America added to the total.

The result marks a career high for Soori, long known for comic supporting roles before shifting toward leading-man parts. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala noted that the film's word-of-mouth sustained collections through a competitive release calendar dominated by larger star vehicles.

The producers said the ₹100 crore figure placed 'Mandaadi' among the top-grossing Tamil films of 2026 and confirmed the film would continue its theatrical run into a third week before any streaming release. They credited the sports narrative and emotional storyline for broad family appeal.

The milestone reflects the growing commercial reach of mid-budget Tamil cinema, which has increasingly competed with big-budget pan-Indian releases at the regional box office.
