Diljit Dosanjh performed to a packed crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Monday, delivering his first major concert in the capital after city police granted security clearance the previous Saturday. The Punjabi singer and actor drew tens of thousands of fans to the venue.
The event had been in doubt for weeks as organisers awaited approvals from Delhi Police over crowd management and traffic arrangements. Clearance allowed the production to proceed with its full staging and lighting setup.
Dosanjh's 'Dil-Luminati' tour has become one of the most commercially successful live music ventures by an Indian artist, with earlier shows across North America and India selling out within hours. His Delhi date capped a run that cemented his crossover appeal beyond Punjabi-language audiences.
Delhi Police deployed additional personnel around the stadium and imposed diversions on surrounding roads. Organisers confirmed the concert ran without major incident, with gates opening in the early evening.
"Delhi, you waited and you showed up," Dosanjh told the crowd, according to video shared by attendees on social media, before launching into a set spanning his Bollywood hits and Punjabi anthems.
