Honeywell International reported third-quarter earnings on Thursday that exceeded Wall Street estimates, driven by record demand in its aerospace unit, and raised its full-year profit forecast.
The Charlotte-based conglomerate said aerospace revenue grew by double digits, supported by a record order backlog spanning commercial original-equipment and defence contracts. Chief executive Vimal Kapur said sustained airline fleet expansion and elevated military spending continued to drive segment growth.
Honeywell's results followed a broadly strong week for industrial and aerospace earnings. GE Aerospace raised its full-year outlook on October 20 citing surging jet-engine demand, and aerospace emerged as the standout performer across the industrial sector this quarter.
The company's building automation and energy segments delivered steadier gains. Management reiterated plans to complete its previously announced separation into three independent businesses, a timeline investors have monitored closely as a potential driver of shareholder value.
"Our aerospace franchise is operating at record levels of demand, and we are executing our portfolio transformation on schedule," Kapur said in the earnings statement.
