MOUNTAIN VIEW, California — Google unveiled its Pixel 11 smartphone lineup on Wednesday at its Made by Google event, introducing the new Tensor G6 processor alongside expanded on-device Gemini AI features and confirming price increases across the range.

The launch followed weeks of speculation about higher costs, driven by rising component prices and tariff pressures on hardware manufacturers. Google positioned the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL as its most AI-capable phones yet, emphasising features that run locally rather than in the cloud. The company also refreshed its Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds accessories.

Rick Osterloh, Google's senior vice president of devices and services, presented the new Tensor G6 chip as central to the lineup, promising faster performance for generative AI tasks including live translation, photo editing, and the Gemini assistant. Google said the phones would ship with the latest version of Android and receive seven years of software updates.

Industry analysts had flagged the price rises as a risk to Pixel's momentum in a market dominated by Apple and Samsung. Google's hardware division has sought to differentiate its phones through software and AI integration rather than competing on price, a strategy that faces new tests as flagship costs climb across the industry.

The Pixel 11 devices were made available for pre-order following the event, with general availability expected in the following weeks. Google confirmed the phones would launch in the United States and major international markets, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.
