SAN FRANCISCO — Anthropic on Tuesday launched an enterprise tier for Claude Code, its AI software-engineering agent, adding native integrations for ERP systems and e-commerce platforms including WooCommerce, SAP, and NetSuite. The company detailed the release in a blog post.

Claude Code, which lets developers generate, edit, and deploy code through natural-language prompts, has gained rapid traction among independent developers over the past year. Recent published accounts described solo developers using the tool to ship production e-commerce stores with live ERP synchronisation, a workflow Anthropic said the new tier is designed to formalise and secure.

The enterprise version adds administrative controls, audit logging, and permissioned access to internal codebases. The connectors allow the agent to read and write to business systems under defined guardrails, addressing security concerns that had limited corporate adoption of autonomous coding agents.

The move intensifies competition with GitHub Copilot and Google's Gemini-based developer tools, all racing to convert individual users into paying corporate contracts. Anthropic said pricing would be seat-based with usage tiers, positioning Claude Code against Microsoft's entrenched enterprise developer base.

An Anthropic spokesperson said: "Developers are already using Claude Code to run entire commercial systems. This release gives their organisations the controls and reliability needed to do that at scale."
