SEATTLE — Amazon's October Prime Day sales event concluded Saturday with some of the steepest discounts of the autumn season on Apple devices, beauty brands and home goods during the final hours. The two-day event ran October 2 and 3.

The sale, officially branded Prime Big Deal Days, offered members exclusive price cuts across electronics and lifestyle categories. Apple products drew the heaviest traffic, with AirPods, iPads, MacBooks and Apple Watches among the most-discounted items, according to deal trackers at PEOPLE and Wirecutter.

Beauty and home categories also featured prominently. Bath & Body Works promotions and Target's newly launched Beauty Studio lineup competed for shoppers' attention, while seasonal apparel such as oversized knitwear trended among value buyers preparing for colder weather.

Retail analysts expected the event to boost early holiday spending, with Amazon positioning the October sale as the unofficial start of the fourth-quarter shopping season. Adobe Analytics had forecast strong online spending across US retailers during the two-day window.

Saturday marked the last chance for consumers to lock in the lowest advertised prices before they reverted. Several retailers signalled that comparable discounts would not return until Black Friday in late November.
