Suriya's 'Vishwanath & Sons' crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide box office on Tuesday, according to trade tracker Sacnilk, extending a commercial run that has made it one of the year's biggest Tamil releases. The film reached the milestone early in its second week.

The drama had already closed its opening week with roughly ₹91 crore, powered by strong occupancy in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and overseas markets in the Gulf and North America. Trade analysts had projected the film would breach ₹100 crore during the second weekend, a target it met ahead of schedule on a working day.

Producers said the film held well on weekdays, a pattern that industry observers cited as evidence of positive word of mouth rather than a front-loaded opening. Multiplex chains including PVR Inox reported sustained bookings for evening shows across major southern cities.

The performance reinforces Suriya's standing as one of Tamil cinema's most bankable stars, following a series of high-profile releases. Trade publications noted the result comes during a competitive late-August window, with several regional films vying for screens.

A spokesperson for the film's distribution team said the strong weekday hold "suggests the film has legs well into its second week." Expanded overseas screenings are planned for the coming weekend.
