Salman Khan's film Maatrubhumi cleared a major hurdle on Tuesday when the Central Board of Film Certification resolved the certification hold that had delayed the project. Producers indicated a revised theatrical date would follow within days.

The film had been stuck in the certification process for several days, with the CBFC seeking modifications before granting a certificate. The delay had pushed back a planned summer release and left distributors uncertain about screen availability.

Maatrubhumi marks another high-profile release for Khan, one of Hindi cinema's most bankable names. Distributors and multiplex chains including PVR INOX had been awaiting clarity on the timeline before finalising showtimes and advance bookings.

Certification clearance typically triggers an immediate marketing push, including trailer promotion and ticket pre-sales, according to trade analysts tracking the Hindi film market. The production team said promotional activity would resume once the new date was confirmed.

A spokesperson for the film said the makers were grateful for the CBFC's decision and would announce the release schedule to audiences soon.
