'DC' crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the box office on Sunday, cementing its status among the year's notable Tamil releases. The film grossed ₹36.50 crore in its first five days, according to trade tracker Sacnilk and distributor reports.

Exhibitors reported near-capacity screenings across Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai throughout the opening week. Distributors noted that overseas markets, particularly in the United States and Gulf states with large Tamil diasporas, contributed significantly to weekend collections.

Trade analysts highlighted the film's momentum after its opening five-day figure outperformed pre-release projections. Industry publications covering Tamil cinema noted that positive word of mouth and weekend footfall helped the picture hold screens against competing releases.

The performance offered a boost to the Tamil film industry during a competitive August calendar. Advance bookings for the coming week remained healthy, suggesting the film could sustain its run into a third weekend.

A distributor associated with the release said the film's holdover strength had exceeded expectations. "The weekend numbers show audiences are turning up in family blocks, which is what drives longevity in Tamil Nadu," the distributor said.
