Marvel Studios' re-release 'Avengers: Endgame Encore' crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office on Monday, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The remastered edition has drawn packed houses since its debut, confirming one of the strongest re-release runs the market has seen.
The restored and extended version of the 2019 blockbuster opened to heavy footfalls last week and sustained momentum through its fifth and sixth days. Exhibitors reported near-sellout evening shows in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, with PVR Inox and Cineworld-affiliated chains adding screens to meet demand.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh attributed the re-release's success to nostalgia among fans and a relatively thin slate of new Hindi releases in early October. The original 'Avengers: Endgame' earned roughly ₹373 crore in India in 2019, making the re-release's pace notable for a film audiences have already seen.
Disney India timed the re-release ahead of the Diwali corridor, positioning Marvel's catalogue strength as a box office draw. The performance underscores how studios are increasingly treating theatrical re-releases of event films as reliable commercial events rather than niche repertory screenings.
A multiplex chain executive said: "The Indian audience's appetite for larger-than-life cinema on the big screen remains unmatched." The re-release serves as evidence of sustained demand for premium-format theatrical experiences.
