Salesforce reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings on Wednesday that exceeded Wall Street consensus estimates, as accelerating enterprise adoption of its Agentforce AI platform boosted subscription and support revenue. The company's shares rose in after-hours trading in New York.

The San Francisco-based customer relationship management group posted revenue near $10.7 billion, up roughly 10% from a year earlier. Adjusted operating margins expanded as chief executive Marc Benioff continued to prioritise profitability alongside growth in the firm's data and AI businesses.

Management highlighted rising deal volumes tied to Agentforce, the autonomous AI agent product Salesforce has positioned at the centre of its strategy. The Data Cloud and AI segment remained the fastest-growing part of the portfolio, with remaining performance obligations providing visibility into future bookings.

Investors had entered the report cautious about whether AI agent deployments were translating into measurable revenue rather than pilots. Analysts at Morgan Stanley and Wedbush had flagged Agentforce monetisation as the key metric, and the results were read as evidence that paid adoption is scaling across large enterprise customers.

Salesforce reaffirmed or nudged higher its full-year revenue guidance. Benioff reiterated the company's target of returning capital to shareholders through buybacks and dividends while investing in AI, following an earnings season that lifted software valuations broadly.
